THE JUDGING PROCESS

The Women in Food & Drink Awards follows a rigorous 2 step judging process. Our judging panel is made up of senior representatives from across the food & drink industry. Our judges are leaders in their field and are representative of the supply chain with experts from manufacturing, retail, hospitality, agriculture, entrepreneurship and advocacy to name a few.

Judges are removed from judging entries where there is a clear conflict of interest, our panels are arranged to ensure expertise aligns with category criteria. Judges are required to sign an NDA and will only have access to entry materials via WIFDA’s secure judging portal.

  • After entries have closed, judges will be sorted into panels, and will complete an online review for a 2 week period, where they will scrutinise every entry against the category criteria.
  • Judges will provide a score for each entry, against the WIFDA scoring framework based on how the entry performs against the criteria.
  • Judges will be asked to make comments in the secure portal to support winner discussion panels.

Winners discussions will include a meet up of all judges, split by panel from Stage One. Judges will be guided through each category, and the top scoring entries by a moderator from the Qs team, who will facilitate the conversation and winner selection.
